I'll look into it. Would you (or anyone else) have a problem with a with a java applet for the client side ?

is it possible you put a java applet front end that leads to irc ? i see plenty of websites implement that

for people who idle in the chan all day you can have irc, and for members who just pop in, can use the java applet
